Hey all as you probably know there are now certain restrictions in place on what chemicals people can use on their farms to protect their land from pests and many other chemiclas are harmful to people and the enviroment. I am writing today to encourage you all to embrace the presence of snakes on your land and gardens! Snakes can naturally control pests. Many small snakes like Dekay's Snakes,Rough & Smooth Green Snakes, and other young snakes eat all sorts of bugs, while larger snakes like Milk & Rat Snakes eat rodents. Snakes are often killed on site because people simply do not like them, however most are harmless and even the venomous ones would never willingly attack a person(most bites happen when people try to capture or kill the snake). If you do have snakes on your land I hope you will not kill them but let them thrive as these animals will only be an asset to pest control! If you do have any problems with snakes eating small chicks or other small animals that you may keep simply putting a screen(like a windscreen used in windows) over the enclosure will keep out any snakes. This is a small fee considering the amount of pests snakes can rid you of.
