Does anyone know the best soil for growing dill? I had no luck last year but it's supposedly the easiest herb to grow! All my other veggies grew-but dill maxed out at like 1 foot tall! Cheers, Sue

Maybe the problem was timing of planting.

    hi sue :)

herbs in general are fairly close cousins of weeds so they are typically easy to grow -- dill in particular as you mentioned (i end up pulling all of the volunteers i get thru the season -- once you plant it, you shouldn't have to plant it ever again lol)

what variety were you using? i use the long island mammoth and it gets 3 ft plus and all over the place as i mentioned ... it likes full sun (6 hours plus a day) and i've found it growing between the cracks in the sidewalk so i don't think soil is an issue ever ... perhaps you had a short variety or it didn't get enough sun ... when did you start it during the season?

    :)
