    1.
I have gooseberry bushes growing in the field and beside (among) them are similar berries, but don't quit look the same..

    2.
These small brush / tress are in our yard.. they are approximately 4-5 feet in height.. and have these pinkish / green berry like things growing on them.. if we pinch the berries they have a nice smell.. hard to describe though.. something like a potporri,

    3.

Very large tree with green berry like things growning on it.

Any help in id of these will be appreciated.. thanks

No. 2 might be a jostaberry. The bigleaf tree looks like a basswood (Tilia sp.).

    Pic 1. Gooseberry.
Pic 2. Looks like a red currant or blackcurrant, Ribes rubrum or Ribes nigrum. Not sure which, you will have to wait till they are ripe.
Pic 3 and 4. Looks like Zanthoxylum. Praps Z. americanum.
Pic 5 and 6. Looks like a Tilia.

Here are some updated pictures of number 2
and 3-4. does #2 still look like a red or black currant ? and if so is it edible ?
also is there a more common name for Zanthoxylum. Praps Z. americanum, I couldn't seem to find anything.
    Again thanks

All Ribes are edible; while some are rather boringly tasteless and some are very sharp, none are poisonous. Try some, if you like them, then eat them. You'll not come to any harm.
