Have a problem regarding a a bare fruit tree I planted during the early spring. First I need to confess I purchased this tree on the cheap. With that being said here is my problem. I planted the tree at the same time I planted a plum tree. Since then the peachtree has never bloomed. I have scratched the base of the tree with my nail, and it is still green, and have done the same near the top of the tree, with same results. The branches appear green near the trunk turning to a darker brown near the tips. I have not fertilized, or added any chemicals since planting. The plum tree is doing great, and is planted around 15 ft. away. Does anyone have any suggestions.?

I've also had problems in recent years with stone fruits purchased bare root not breaking bud. Either yours will make an effort later this season or it will deteriorate and become obviously dead.

I was going to dig it up the other day, but wimped out thinking I'd give it more time. Fortunately I found another one at a local nursery, and naturally I paid double what I paid for the first one. This one had fruit on it so in it went.
