I've had a begonia albopicta for just over a year. It did really well for a long time, but has lately been having problems with its leaves. It looks like it is generally healthy, with dark green leaves, but some of them have been developing brown, crunchy tips or other spots of brown crunchy on them randomly. They get the brown spots and the leaf starts to yellow around the edges of the brown spots. Eventually, the leaves fall off. I thought at first that I was over-watering it, or that it was too close to the heater. I moved it from the heater and have been watering it a little less, but it is still happening, and I don't know why. Any guesses as to what's wrong with it, and what I can do to fix the problem? Thanks, Tina
Could be that your plant has a sensitivity to chemicals often added to municipal water systems, e.g. chlorine, fluoride. Try using filtered water, or let your tap water sit out overnight to allow some of these chemicals to dissipate.
