beautiful unknown fruits

    A friend of mine asked me to which plants the fruits in the picture belong. Since he just photographed them in a shop where they were used as decoration he does not know where the plant comes from. Since I have no clue in this case I want to try the wider web for ideas ...

    A 'different' type of lychee? They look more like cones from an evergreen tree!

    Looks like the cones from a Juniper or Cedar of some sort.

    I have found the answer myself now: These are fruits of Raphia farinifera, a palm species ...
