beautiful ?? tree

    Was this picture taken recently? Or a few weeks ago? Looks like a flowering crab (maybe Prairiefire or Profusion) to me, but it would have bloomed a few weeks ago.

    Hundreds of crabapple cultivars have been introduced to North America, more than two have reddish/deep pink flowers and purple leaves. Experts may require fruits and flowers both to name a particular specimen, unless it is exactly the same in flower as known examples of a familiar kind.

    Yes I took this picture 2 weeks ago and should have mentioned that in my posting. Many thanks for the lead, I will work on nailing down the cultivar.
