After having two hurricanes in a row recently this flower appeared by the dozen randomly scattered in my flower bed. Turns out it appeared all over our town in various areas as well Can you tell me what it is?

Actually Zephyranthes are the ones commonly called "Hurricane lilies".

Lycoris are native to Japan, Korea and China. They don't have hurricanes there, they are called typhoons.

This is the second perso to have Lycoris radiata and didn't know it. Mine are now going out of bloom. Their flowering is triggered by the shortening days not hurricanes. They will flower now even if there is no rain. The same for Colchicum.

Thought that Zephyranthes were known as "rain lilies".
