In the course of going door to door for my job I came across a seed cone (don't know if that is the proper verbiage) that I thought was beautiful and amazing.
After making my way back from the homeowner's door I found the plant it belonged to and fell even more in love.
Didn't have my camera, but did keep the cone I found.
Similar to a pine cone, but fuzzy. Has red seeds and an ornate stem.
    Pics are attached!
The plant (I assume it was a tree) was similar in leaf structure and appearance to a magnolia, but not the brown bottom leaf variety. Leaves were very waxy and plump and also tapered to a point. Fatter across than a magnolia.
    Any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks for the help. Not sure what convinced me at first that it wasn't a magnolia, I guess I had a moment! :)
