If you like mushrooms and want to learn more about them, join us, rain or shine, for an exploration of mushrooms and a walk through the UBC campus. Please meet us in the Allan Yap Biodiversity Theatre inside the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at 2:15 pm for an introduction to mushrooms before we head outside. Group leaders Jaclyn Dee, Ludovic Le Renard, and Mary Berbee will highlight the characters you can use to identify some of our province's more abundant kinds of fungi and show you some of our common poisonous and edible species. Plan for a jam-packed day of learning and join us first for our monthly Way Cool Biodiversity Series at 1:00 p.m. Adults and families with kids are welcome – dress for the weather! About the Group Leaders Jaclyn Dee, Ludovic Le Renard, and Mary Berbee share a long-standing passion for these colourful and important organisms. Jackie is a 3rd year PhD student researching fungal evolution and cell biology. Ludo, a 2nd year PhD student, is researching fossil fungi.
