Is it safe for plants to use bark mulch from the beach or does the salt leach into the soil
    & cause problems?

    Thanks!

    Dear Passionflower,
Ive scavenged shoreline goodies but I have a healthy respect for salt. I wash off my kelp before it goes into the compost and any sand or stones I bring home. Man, I even wash any driftwood.... Having found
out "brined" firewood will play havoc with the morter in your flue..... So I guess you'll have to soak and rinse a bit for a garden bed, However if it's used to suppress weeds in a path then it's got a future as is.
