We want to give bamboo a try and have read the forums. We have a protected yard with zone 5 micro climates. Does anyone know of a source of hardy bamboo in the Ottawa region? marsgarden@sympatico.ca
If you can't find a local source, I've had good experiences dealing with Burt Associates in Massachusetts, which specializes in bamboos for colder climates. The owner has been responsive to my queries, and his judgment about hardiness has been pretty reliable (in my experience, gardening in Maine). Might as well take advantage of the mighty Canadian dollar, eh?
