Bamboo-like, hollow soft stalks, near creek

    Hi,

    Can anyone identify this plant? about 1.5" thick, 5ft tall by a creek around the base of Burnaby Mountain.

    Probably Japanese knotweed, although it is not possible to say for sure without seeing a picture.

    Bohemian knotweed. Somebody should try to clear it out of there - but it won't be easy.
