I was looking at clay pots a Lowe's yesterday. The most attractive dimensions were called ''azalea pots''. They were shorter relative to diameter. The others looked top heavy. I bought some for Aloes. I am not familiar with azaleas. I did wonder, were these pots really for azaleas or is that just a name for a style?
Both, I think. It's a generic name for pots that are 3/4 as tall as their diameter. Sort of like rose pots (taller than they are wide) or strawberry pots (having multiple additional openings around the outside of the pot, as well as the opening at the top). Presumably azaleas do better in shallower pots than they do in deeper ones.
