I'm kinda new to making things grow, started a few months ago. I'm not sure it's a real problem but my avocado leaves looks kinda weird. No brown spot, nothing drying out. Here's how they look : Normal or not ? From the pictures on the net, it doesnt look at all the same shape... Also, i forgot to pinch the top off for that one, will see how it goes and will do maybe later Problem might be sun, water, fertlizer ( used a few jobes plant food spikes 13-4-5 )
Yeah, sadly i dont have enought lights in my apartment. Big window but it gets direct sunlight for about an hour a day. Sun kinda get blocked from buildings around for most of the afternoon... Bought a small lamp but i guess it's not enough. Or it needs a little time to adjust ? Have had the light for about 4 days now. 18'' fluorescent t8 daylight ( 6500k, about 750 lumens ) How much light should i give it using that kind of setup ? Lamp is about 6 inch from the plant. Thanks a lot !
Move it to where the sun can hit it a few minutes a day gradually move it so the sun can be on it as long as possible. Artificial lights can work but need to be full spectrum. Those types can be quite expensive. http://www.gardeners.com/How-to-Choose-a-Grow-Light/5020,default,pg.html http://www.gardeners.com/High-Inten...tml?start=7&cgid=IndoorGardening_LightGardens
Here's another picture of my avocado tree. It continued to grow, but still have those weird leaves. I have another avocado tree just beside, and the leaves are normal. I mean they look like healthy leaves ( flat leaves ). But this tree, the leaves are curling downard and onto themselves... I looked for bugs, nada, its not everwatered, soil is draining well... Just one of my avocado is weird but they are grown with the same water, soil, location, light...
