My young avocado tree is losing all of its leaves suddenly following last week's Fay storm. We had 25" of rain here in Melbourne,FL. My tree is 18mos old, from seed, approx 5' tall, in beautiful healthy condition before the storm. The tree branches are still very green. Will the tree regenerate new leaves and be OK or have I lost the tree?

Circumstances described make it sound like it got too wet. If the roots rotted it may not come back. All anyone here can do is guess what happened and what will happen.

It was flooded? If so, I'd wait to see if it sets out new leaves. My two young avocados suffered no flooding and are busy growing. In fact, so is the rest of the yard.
