I recently purchased an avocado tree which looked full and healthy. The leaves started turning brown. I watered and moved it out of full day direct sun. The leaves have completely turned brown, starting at the top of the tree and continuing down but they are not dry--they are flexible and stay attached. The new growth is green, for the time being. The pot drains well. I'm stumped--can't find anything that fits this description. I really don't want to lose this plant!

    Any ideas?
