I was told that above plant is one of the Australian's Mistletoes pretending to look like eucalyptus. Unfortunately I have not taken a photograph of the host plant. I am not familiar with Australian flora and would be happy to have any comments/opinions on the subject. It was taken in Queensland, February.
A very common mistletoe (family Loranthaceae) on Eucalyptus trees. Genus is Amyema, species either A. pendulum or A. miquelii. Can't see enough detail of inflorescence structure to be sure, but inclined to think A. miquelii. It has all flowers stalked (pedicels 3-6 mm), while A. pendulum has centre flower of each group of 3 sessile (stalkless).

It looks like the one that was growing on my prunus. (killed it) We have a lot of Eucalypt Trees (all differnet types) across the road as well as sourrounding area. I would like to know if it could have been a mistletoe or are there are types of mistletoe like plants that attached to the prunus. Liz
