I’m hoping someone can help me out with regards to identifying this plant/Latin name. My friend, who lives in Malaysian, calls this the “Monkey Palm”. I have been to most of the places around Vancouver/Lower Mainland and no one has heard of this plant. It may be native to Malaysian and the “Monkey Palm” name may be a nick name? Not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thx in advance.
update: Just wanted to write thank you to everyone who has replied to this message. Someone else told me that this may be a Washingtonia - European Fan Palm.....???

Trachycarpus fortunei (Windmill Palm) ??? Please wait for one more knowledgeable than me to confirm - that's just what I have called this kind of palm in the past.

Looks more like a Livistonia to me too. Trachycarpus fortunei fronds are more fibrous. I have both growing.

They got confused there, Washingtonia is a Californian palm; European Fan Palm is Chamaerops humilis. Yours certainly isn't Chamaerops humilis, that has slenderer, stiffer leaflets.
