Asiatic hybrid lily http://ceique.notlong.com 17 June 2008 Asiatic hybrid lily. This lily was given to my wife on Mother's Day in 2004 in a pot of about twelve blooms. It was planted in the garden and has bloomed since 2004. Some small daughter bulbs were transplanted along the fence and they are now a new clump as large as the mother patch.
After a difficult weather week of heavy rain and thunderstorms, some of our day lilies are staring to show their color. http://cdn-media.gardenguides.com/media/images/000000/53/15/NTUzMTUx_large.jpg http://cdn-media.gardenguides.com/media/images/000000/67/15/NTY3MTUx_large.jpg http://cdn-media.gardenguides.com/media/images/000000/49/15/NTQ5MTUx_large.jpg http://cdn-media.gardenguides.com/media/images/000000/51/15/NTUxMTUx_large.jpg
Those are beautiful Asiatic lilies, just for clarity, I think daylily most commonly refers to Hemerocallis, quite a different plant, but with similar flower shape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemerocallis
Just Plain Daylilies This morning several day lilies burst forth in our garden. Pictured on our blog: http://my.gardenguides.com/members/DougPhoto/blog/2008/07/03/Daylily_Fireworks
