Hello, I was visiting the UBC food garden yesterday and I was amazed by the way the fruit trees are espaliered. Is it possible to train an asian pear tree the same form? I have a small yard and was hoping to train this along the fence. Also, does anyone know if UBC offers courses on espalier? Thanks!
Thank-you very much for your kind words about the fruit trees. Yes it is possible to espalier an asian pear, in fact we do have one trained as a stepover in the garden, other shapes are possible also.
