Nope! Not Japanese Knotweed, Morning Glory, Lamiastrum, English Ivy or Himalyan Balsam in this guys' yard. These 6 are definitely on a mission to radically change the local landscape - which will NOT include my garden as long as I have the strength to raise a garden-tool in defiance & flail-away at them.

I am quite tolerant of many other species - too lazy to remove them as long as they don't get right out of hand. This is a welcome loosening of rigid & unnatural gardening ideas which have only been able to prevail since the 1960s, courtesy of herbicides, IMO.

I have a fondness for Herb Robert but creeping buttercup is my nemesis!

A weed is just a flower out of place.

Horsetail is not a flower out of place. Nothing but a menace to my garden! Nothing will stop it.

Prarie. My Grandmother always used to tell me that and then grin when I got mad at weeds. There are definitly weeds that need to be wiped out like horsetail and a bunch of others and it's not an easy battle especially in Canada where you are limited in what you can use. Perseverance is the only thing. barb
