    . . . and yet another surprise in Mérida, Yucatán. This tree is huge (understatement). Flowering before leafing out. I have no clue.

    Looks like Ceiba pentandra, or at least a Ceiba sp.

    Oh Tony - I've been waiting for this to bloom; I thought the architecture was right, but was looking for all white flowers. Didn't think they might look rather orange. thank you so much!
