Here are some Aroid images taken in the woods around my house in Colombia. I know more detailed images of different parts of the plant are usually required for identification but wonder if any of these are easily recognizable. I can proboblyget close ups of some parts if helpfull. (Oops #1 & #7 are the same.)
OK, here goes (I recognize these ones! Finally!) 019s, 047s, 050s are all Xanthosoma saggitatum, which has edible tubers. In Ecuador, we call them "Pelma" - I'm unsure of the Colombian common name. 018s and 032s are Philodendron fibrosum. 020s is, I believe, a Rhodospatha (flowers would confirm or deny the ID). 021s is Xanthosoma again, but a different species. The name is escaping me at the moment. 022 is an Anthurium, as is 026. Species names are hard to come by for these - I'll check my keys. 036 is Anthurium giaganteum, a plant with which I am quite familiar.
Are you a member of the International Aroid Society (www.aroid.org) yet Pitter? It's been absolutely invaluable to me, particularly as the more recent issues of their journal contain a rather exhaustive aroid flora of Narino department (and previous ones have much of my country as well.) Their website is also a fount of useful aroid information.
