I have some insect in my backyard (a lot of these actually) and I suspect they eat the leaves of my newly planted summer squash and cucumber plants (I am not quite sure but someone definitely ate them and these creatures were always around)

Anyone knows who these are and whether they are pests and can be a thread to newly planted annuals as well?
Can I do anything to get rid of them?

    See the attached photo.

    Best regards,
    Anna

They are woodlice (Isopoda). Generally harmless leaf-litter-feeders, but they can occasionally damage soft young seedlings.
