Are these insect eggs? If so what kind?

    What are these red enlongated things that look like eggs and are all over the new leaves on a wild cherry tree? Will they be a problem; and if so, how do I eliminate them? They are only on the two young trunks that were next to the mature tree.

    another case of bladder gall mites?

    Thank you jimmyq. With the info you provided I did a search and it lead me to a picture of spindle gall mites. I am sure that is what these are.
