Identification: Are these Candlestick Fungi?

    Taken in Richmond.
    There are variations in the shape of the tip and the branching.
    Are these Candlestick Fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon)?

    Your ID is correct David. And yes there is a fair bit of variation. Lovely little things - tendency to like Maples I've noticed.
