Identification: Are these all Parmelia sulcata ?

    These are mix up with Hypogymnia physodes on a wooden fence. Just to see if my IDs are correct.

    Based on what I can see, likely Parmelia sulcata and Parmelia hygrophila. Good diagnostic photos but also examination of specimens is required for a proper ID.

    Are Parmelia hygrophila the ones that tend to form disc shaped patch ?

    Good observation. The answer is "sort of." Your fifth photo shows dense laminal isidia - the cluster of wee finger like projections in the centre. That and the implied habitat makes Parmelia hygrophila a reasonable ID. If you are interested in Parmelias and have a handlens or other magnifier, looking at the rhizines on the underside will provide other diagnostic characters.

    Haha, quite difficult for me with extremely bad eyesight.
    Right eye has myopic macular degeneration. Left eye though
    no macular degeneration, but still very myopic. Often time
    I shot things without knowing they were in view !
