We have a large Japanese type garden about 20 years old and planted with over 1,000 Vancouver Jade plants. Up until last year it has been glorious, thick and lush.

Last spring we noticed a large patch of what looked like winter or first kill. this year, there are many more large patches of this and I am concerned that we are going to lose the whole garden.

The leaves and stems are silvery black and brittle. (black mould?)

Some of the plants when I cut them back seem to have some new growth buds or there may be a tiny few normal looking leaves on a plant that looks dead.

Please help. I am afraid that we are going to lose the whole garden.
