I received an Variegated Arboricola Schefflera as a gift which I intend to grow as an indoor plant. There are 4 plants currently 50 cm (2 ft.) tall in a 6 inch pot. Other than growth not being as compact as I have seen they appear healthy. Four appears alot of competiton for nutrients. Are multiple plantings customary or would they benefit being re-potted individually ? Or is this a personal preference ? I have seen specimens with a more compact ,bushy, growth. Is ther a method used to achieve this ? I read in another post here that arboricola is poisonous/toxic. Is this houseplant species included as well ?
