Ever feel like this a plant is stalking you? I was at my grandmothers house two weeks ago and I saw a plant that looked like our columbine (Aquilegia formosa) except that it was dark blue/purple. Cool. I went out to the Pitt Marshes on Saturday, and I saw the same plant, this time in blue, pink and white. Today I went to Van Dusen and this same flower popped up in various parts of the garden without ever having a sign.

So what is this plant? Is it native or a cultivar?

    Thanks!

    John

That's Aquilegia vulgaris, a European native.
