Please help ID this 8" tall plant with no apparent leaves and tiny white flowers . It is growing in the muddy banks of a river in SE Michigan. Thanks

I suspect it's either Alisma triviale or Alisma subcordatum. The leaves are apparent, they are the broader oval-shaped ones in the background. Unfortunately, because of the lack of detail on the leaves, it is difficult (for me, at least) to determine which of the two species it might be (there are only 3 species of Alisma in Michigan, and the third is Alisma gramineum, which has narrow leaves).

Thanks Daniel, I see if I can get a closer shot of the leaves.
