hi folks, wondering if i can just get some free advice here! i have a 4 yr. old tilton apricot, which to my limited knowledge does not require a "female" to produce. i am noticing that on the trunk in several areas there are large "globs" of sap. they seem to have oozed out from within. i do not know if i need to do anything about them. is this normal? i am in vancouver, wa. not necessarily the optimum spot for my little tree, but he is in a sheltered spot and doing marvelously. thank you for your input!

Common on stone fruits (including apricot trees), a disease-susceptible group generally. Multiple possible causes. Search "gummosis."
