This apricot tree is about 10 years olds and has never set that much fruit. It grows vigorously and I do prune it every 2-3 years. It is very perplexing as to why it has not set any fruits for such a long time. Flowers this year were very few to none. Any ideas or hope would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

One of the first fruit trees I ever planted was self pollinating apricot variety which never produced any fruit either. I decided that it was planted in the only frost pocket on my property and because it was in bloom so early, the bees and other insects weren't around to do their job.I think our weather can be so very unpredictable in the very early spring when the apricots are in bloom. I had even tried to pollinate with a paint brush with no success either. If I ever plant another I think I might situate it on a southern wall like a peach or some area where it would be protected with a full sun exposure.I live on the south end of Vancouver Island.
