    Hi there,

I had pruned some apple trees for the first season of espalier training. On one of the trees I've had a bud or two break (is that the correct term? the bud has blossomed and begun to grow) about 5-6 inches below where I had pruned. The top two or three buds are still unchanged. Would it be wise to continue with the bud that has already grown, or should I cut it back and wait for the top buds to grow?

    cheers,
    Doug
