I've had this problem with an apple tree in my yard. Most of the ends of the branches die off. Its been this way for a couple of years. Is this some sore of cedar-apple rust? What can I do to control or get rid of the problem? I have another apple tree standing next to this once but it is not affected by this fungus. Please advise. Carl
Could be Apple Fire Blight. See Apple (Malus spp.)-Fire Blight | Pacific Northwest Plant Disease Handbook Wikipedia says that "The only effective treatment for plants already infected is to prune off the affected branches and remove them from the area." Fire blight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
