I recently planted about 18 apple trees this spring in NC USDA Zone 7/8 and now 3 of them have their leaves turned brown and fallen off. One was a golden delicious the other two are Fuji. Are there any issues that are known to be issues ? The leaves on the tree started turning brown on the outside edges that work their way in. Will I need to replace the trees or will they grow again next year? Thank you so much for the help.

Its official all three trees seem to be dead. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can prevent this from happening to the other trees?

Hard to know for sure what caused it by that description, and to prevent its happening to the others. You might check if the nursery you purchased them from can replace them; sometimes they guarantee a full year of life, provided you have followed planting/care instructions provided, like providing several gallons of water to each tree every so many days, pruning at planting, planting depth, etc.
