My apple tree (granny smith) has something wrong with it. I sprayed it with malathion, and also put dormant oil on it, and put a systemic bug eliminator mixture around the roots, but its just getting worse. I also sprayed it with a soap fungicide. Does anyone know what this is, or what i should do?

These are yound trees, planted this year. It was on one, now has spread to the next one, and i think the same thing is starting on a peach tree too.

The last picture is the second apple tree ( red delicious).

the soil here is very clayey. i pulled back the mulch and found it to be very wet. I think the clay maybe forming a pot that is making water stand in the topsoil around the tree. Could this be stress from too much water? I dug it up, put a gravel bed under it to keep water off the roots, and replanted without the mulch. Ill keep you posted.
