Identification: Aphids?

I say aphids... my friend says baby boxelder bugs... what say you?

my aphids are all green....but so are the plants they have been on...the ones on the red roses down the street are red/brown....definitely aphids. i kill them with my fingers, haven't seen any since, takes a while to do though....
