    Anyone happen to know what this beautiful, purple flowering plant is? Saw it on a vacation last summer & loved it. Have never found out what it was though.

    looks like a Rhododendorn from here... Purple Splendour perhaps?

    A rhododendron for sure. It's a bit too light for 'Purple Splendour', I think, but I'd also bet on a ponticum hybrid. I'm a bit dubious about the colour.
