Seen in the Arid House (which has some 600 species of cacti) at Duthie Park Winter Gardens in Aberdeen, Scotland. I forgot to note the species on any signage, and now I want to use this photo for something where I need the species ID.

Any more info you could give? How large was it? Was is solitary, or in a "clump"? Succulents/cacti are my passion :) Going by your pic alone its difficult to pin point, it would be easier to narrow down with a little more info.

It looks a lot like an Echinopsis of some type, but narrowing it down to the species would be difficult.

Sorry for the delayed reply. The need for the answer passed before anyone responded and I totally forgot to check back here.

It was a long time ago that I saw it and photographed it so I can't remember much, but I'm pretty sure that node was a couple of inches across and was fairly solitary, though it might have been "joined at the hip" with a couple of others of similar size.
