any to grow in illinois??

    hi, does anyone know if there are any other cacti or succulents that can grow in illinois rather than Prickly pear(optunia), hen and chicks (sempevarium), and sedum??

    You could try Opuntia imbricata, O. kleiniae, or O. whipplei are three cholla (cylinders instead of pads) species that will be hardy for you. There are also several species of Echinocereus that will be hardy as well. Don't forget the various no-trunk Yuccas

    Depending on how far south you are in Illinois....Agave parryi, Hesperaloe parviflora, Yucca elata,
