I have some plants that look like mini palm trees. They are from the Home Depot's gardening section. There was no name tag on them (there was three- different sizes in one pot). When I first got them, I planted them in regular soil and they seemed to have a hard time. The leaves were going brownish and so I got it a light, and didn't water it as much, and it started doing better. I know that it likes it's soil fairly dry and it likes to be warmer with alot of light. I wonder if I should use a root stimulator on it, or is there any special food I should give it? What about the soil, is it the right kind for it, potting soil bought in Northern Alberta, Canada? Thank You
You don't have a "mini palm tree", you have a Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana'. Here's a quick link to Dracaena, pronounced ... dra-SEEN-a. http://www.dracaena.com/Massangeana.asp Cheers, LPN.
