Any ideas?

    Hi can anyone help me identify this plant? moved to a new home last year and this was growing in the garden.

    It is definitely Helleborus, however not H. foetidus.Looks more like H.argutifolius, with the 3 lobed ,coarsely toothed leaves. Common name Corsican hellebore.

    Thanks for all your help guys. Had an idea it was a hellebore but couldn't find a match for the leaves. But Luddite@Machen seems to of found the right match with the Corsican Hellebore,

    sorry, wasn't taking sufficient account of the leaves. Just so surprised to be the first to be able to put a name to anything.

    Been there done that nic.
    My worst problem is being sooo very slow typing , ( in spite of checking that no one had already answered) by the time I've finished 2 people have got in before me!
