I have tiny ants in the container of my A. Shirasawaum 'Aureum.' They do not seem to be on the tree just in the soil of the container. Do I need to take any precautions? And if so, how do I get rid of them while leaving the plant out of harms way? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to add, I dont see any signs of Aphids on the leaves. As a matter of fact, the ants are only in the soil.

They must have built their home in the soil. That happened to one of my plants that was summering outdoors. I found ant eggs and ant colony. I had to remove the plant from the pot, shake out the soil, left out the plant from the pot for a few hours to let the ants leave then changed the soil.
