I was hoping some of you experts out there might be able to ID this anthurium for me. It is suppossed to be a species. The leaf has the velvety feel to it and the new leaves coming out are red to burgundy in color. It does have a bright yellow flower which is very fragrant. Any ideas??

This is an immature plant of the same species.....supposedly.

Also the sinus on the leaf tends to widen out as the plant matures.

Resembles Anthurium marmoratum Sodiro 1903 sometimes often known as Anthurium angamarcanum Sodiro. A very variable species. Sorry, with only a photo of the blade, not enough information to speculate. Both are in section Cardiolonchium which produces velvet feeling blades.
