    Hello,

I'd like to ask for help in identifying this plant. I think that it's a gumweed plant. More closely, a grindelia sqsquarrosa but I suspect the leaf shape is wrong. Using field guides isn't as easy as I had supposed.

Is it possibly Heterotheca villosa, (syn. Chrysopsis villosa)? Joe

Nearly, but not quite - it's Common Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea)
