Perhaps old news but is just hitting headlines here in UK. Xylella fastidiosa is a bacterium spread by insects already decimating Olive trees in Italy.Haven't seen list of susceptible species but if it knocks out Sycamore it's gotta be bad news.
Have you seen that it attacks sycamore maples? Ugh if so. Only thing is, it's got to be a little wetter here than in southern Italy! ;)
I saw this on the BBC news this morning. It looks frightening and it seems to be one new disease after another making its way into the UK.
According to this link sycamore is susceptible to subsp multiplex. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...file/491809/xylella-fastidiosa-impl-trade.pdf Thanks for the heads up Houzi, I hadn't heard about this. -E
