Yes - if that is the current botanical placement of this particular species. The locally native yellow-eyed grass has a similar appearance, the conventional name for our species is S. californicum.
It cannot be S.californicum, it is in S. America area. Wikipedia says "It is native to the west coast of North America from British Columbia to central California, where it grows in moist habitat, often in coastal areas".???
"Has a similar appearance" meant similar to species shown rather than same as species shown. Note, however, that reseeding species in collections may get into areas they are not supposed to be - if this is not in fact, a similar South American species to the native then maybe the native planted itself in this part of the collection.
