Hi . Our alovera plant which we have owned for many years seems to be doing something it has not done before . There are two long spikes with what looks like seeds at the end . I'm wondering if this is the result of over crowding or has it reached maturity ? What should I do ? Collect the seeds or just let them drop , get rid of , plant and just leave the main plant alone . I have included a couple of photos , I hope . Thanks . Roger
Those are not seeds yets, flowers for now. Not sure what it takes to pollinate aloes but I would say just enjoy the flowers. I was just in california in February, some of those aloes have blooms 5 to 10 FEET tall!!
Hi . It didn't flower as seen in some of the on line photos . The elongated green sticky pods have pretty much dropped off . Not sure if this is normal ? Probably needed to be pollinated . I'll have to do some more research to see if these are seed pods and what to do with them . Thanks for your replies . Roger
